The March of Dimes 28th Annual Sports Luncheon, New York Division, honored Dr. Mark Emmert, President of the NCAA, who received the Sports Leadership Award; Hope Solo and Abby Wambach, who accepted the Sportswomen of the Year Award on behalf of the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team; and New York Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira, who was honored with the Sportsman of the Year Award. Steve Bornstein, President and CEO of the NFL Network, received the Corporate Leadership Award. The annual awards luncheon was held at the Waldorf-Astoria in Manhattan. The event raised over $775,000 for the March of Dimes.

The honorees received Mellon's well-known Father and Child and Mother and Child bronze sculptures, first created for the March of Dimes over twenty years ago. Past recipients have included Arthur Ashe, Mickey Mantle, Chris Evert and many other sport icons who have been listed below.
