Mellon exhibited 20 works during the fall of 2006 at the I.M. Pei designed Mellon Performing Arts Center of elite boarding school Choate Rosemary Hall in Wallingford, Ct. The show focused on Mellon’s portrait busts of iconic figures from around the globe, and included 20 bust commissions over a 25 year period. Included were busts of Pope John Paul II, , Winston Churchill, Albert Einstein, former Taiwanese President Lee Teng-Hui ,and Muhammad Ali. Included too were process photos of Mellon taken during life sitting with his subjects, academy-award winning actress Patricia Neal, President George H.W. Bush, and legendary performer Tony Bennett. |
